Individual 1-to-1 sessions during term-time and holidays

GCSE English Literature, English Language and Mathematics Afternoons

-  GCSE English Literature Afternoon: Shakespeare, 19th Century Text, Modern Text and Poetry  

 3 hours 45 minutes @ £120.00

An individual session via Zoom, focussed on your child's English Literature Set Texts.
If you book multiple sessions, each afternoon will cover different material. An example schedule is:
12pm - 12:45pm: English Lit Paper 1: Shakespeare (e.g. Macbeth)
12:45pm - 1pm: Break
1pm - 1.45pm: Paper 1: 19th Century Text (e.g. A Christmas Carol)
1.45pm - 2pm: Break
2pm - 2.45pm: Paper 2: Modern Text (e.g. An Inspector Calls)
2.45pm - 3pm: Break
3pm - 3.45pm: Paper 2: Poetry (e.g. Power & Conflict)

-  GCSE English Language Afternoon: English Language Papers 1 and 2

 3 hours 45 minutes @ £120.00

An individual session via Zoom, focussed on the GCSE English Language Paper 1: Explorations in Creative Writing; and Paper 2: Writers' Viewpoints and Perspectives.
If you book multiple sessions, each afternoon will cover different material. An example schedule is:
12pm - 12:45pm: Paper 1: Questions 1, 2 and 3
12:45pm - 1pm: Break
1pm - 1.45pm: Paper 1: Questions 4 and 5
1.45pm - 2pm: Break
2pm - 2.45pm: Paper 2: Questions 1, 2, 3 and 4
2.45pm - 3pm: Break
3pm - 3.45pm: Paper 2: Question 5

-  GCSE Maths Afternoon: Calculator and Non-Calculator Papers Exam Preparation 

 3 hours 45 minutes @ £120.00

Individual session via Zoom, revising for the GCSE Maths Calculator and Non-Calculator Papers for Higher or Foundation papers, according to your child's requirements. If you book multiple sessions, each afternoon will cover different material. E.g.:
12pm - 12:45pm: Non-Calculator Practice Exam Questions
12:45pm - 1pm: Break
1pm - 1.45pm: Revision - Non-Calculator
1.45pm - 2pm: Break
2pm - 2.45pm: Calculator Practice Exam Questions
2.45pm - 3pm: Break
3pm - 3.45pm: Revision - Calculator

Intensive 11+ Preparation (either Group or Individual)

These afternoons will focus on English, Verbal Reasoning, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning exam practice questions. The sessions are suitable for children who are preparing for their 11+. Whether your child has already received tuition or not, you may feel that he or she would benefit from an intensive 11+ booster course in the run-up to the exam.  Group Intensive 11+ Preparation Afternoons are open to up to 4 children. Individual afternoon sessions are also available. They usually run from 12pm to 3.45pm, although this may vary depending on the date, so please check the times advertised. We will spend 45 minutes focusing on each of the four subjects with three 15 minute breaks. Individual sessions can be adapted to focus on different subjects (e.g. just Maths and English, or just VR and NVR) if required. Every 'afternoon' will cover different material and so multiple bookings are recommended (for example, four consecutive afternoons could be booked as a 4-day 'summer school').
